On a monthly basis, we purchase dried food items like, rice, atta flour, cooking oil, beans, sugar, UHT milk, and infant formula. We also offset emergency medical bills and provide necessary medical facilitation to people in need.
Food Outreach Program?
We started an on-going Food Outreach Program at the Holy Redeemer Church in 2009. In the early days of the Food Outreach Program, we distributed dried food packages to about 50 asylum seeker families once a month. Today, however, the number has risen to over 400 families monthly. We also try to find ways to find jobs, wherever and whenever it is possible, and also establish petty businesses for some of the families so that they can fend for themselves. We do this bearing in mind the laws of Thailand and legal consequences. We have had some successes in this regard.
